Our company is proud to provide customers with nutritious and delicious fresh and frozen chicken products. Our products are produced in Newfoundland and Labrador from our farm, feed mill, and processing facilities. We are owned by private company that is 100% owned and operated by Atlantic Canadian farmers.

 

We are an industry leader in the production of high-quality products that employs over 300 people, and we market our products under various brand names. We operate the province’s only fully integrated chicken producer and processor that is involved in every stage of the process, from farm to plate. A proud contributor to the poultry industry in Newfoundland and Labrador and beyond, we are an anchor in the local agriculture economy, and are integrated with the region’s retail, restaurant, and poultry supply chain.

Role Overview:

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is accountable for the overall operational and financial performance of the company, and reinforces a continuous improvement and safety culture. The COO plays an important role as production leader, and are as comfortable in the barn, feed mill, and plant as they are in the boardroom. The COO is solutions-oriented and is accountable for product quality, culture, as well as employee and animal care, health, and safety. The COO is an ambassador for the company, ensuring solid relationships and creating value for stakeholders, including retailers, suppliers and partners. In this high-profile role, the COO joins a dynamic organization, providing overall strategic management and implementing a continuous improvement mindset across operations.

 

Requirements:

The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of progressive leadership experience as a General Manager or senior executive leader/officer in a company of comparable size and scope. They have a comprehensive understanding of food processing, and/or the agricultural industry value chain - from farm to table. Poultry industry experience is an asset. They have a commercial focus and financial acumen with experience in managing a company’s P&L, they demonstrate exceptional leadership skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a diverse team (salary and hourly) to achieve significant and sustainable commercial success. They have a solutions orientation and excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
