Are you passionate about meeting new people and delivering exceptional customer service? The Clinical Information Clerk (CIC) role offers a unique opportunity to engage regularly with patients, families, and visitors, becoming the welcoming face of Lake of the Woods District Hospital (LWDH).

As a CIC, you will play a vital role in registering patients and guiding them through their visit to ensure a safe and efficient experience. You will also provide reception services and share essential information with patients and visitors. The CIC supports several clinics, including the Ambulatory Day Clinic, Respiratory Clinic, Internal Medicine Clinic, and Stroke Strategy.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
  • Medical Terminology certification
  • Previous experience in a medical office environment, other combinations of experience and/or education may be considered
  • Knowledge of hospital terminology, office procedures and filing
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills (grammar, punctuation, and style)
  • Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with the public both in person in person and by telephone
  • Excellent keyboarding skills; minimum 35 wpm
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Understands and maintains confidentiality
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Physically capable of performing the essential duties including sitting for extended periods, light bending, lifting, pushing and pulling
  • Reliable attendance record
