Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team.

The successful candidate will perform advanced electrical installations and repairs independently, mentor apprentice electricians, ensure compliance with safety protocols and electrical codes, and collaborate with the foreman to plan and execute electrical projects.

The Journeyman Electrician will also be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting various electrical systems, including Fire Alarm, Lighting & Lighting Control, and Distribution, while keeping accurate records of all work completed and materials used.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform Advanced Electrical Installations and Repairs
  • Independently perform advanced electrical installations, maintenance, and repair tasks.
  • Ensure all electrical systems and components meet established standards and safety protocols.
  • Provide Mentorship and Guidance
  • Mentor and guide apprentice electricians, providing hands-on training and support.
  • Assess apprentices' work and provide constructive feedback to promote their skill development.
  • Safety and Code Compliance:
  • Adhere to and enforce strict safety protocols and electrical codes on all job sites.
  • Conduct safety inspections and ensure that all electrical work complies with local, state, and national regulations.
  • Project Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the electrical foreman to plan, coordinate, and execute electrical projects.
  • Provide input on project timelines, resource allocation, and material requirements.
  • System Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain electrical systems, including Fire Alarm, Lighting & Lighting Control, and Distribution.
  • Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
  • Troubleshooting and Solutions:
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Respond promptly to service calls and emergency situations to minimize downtime.
  • Record Keeping:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of all work performed, including installations, repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Track materials used and ensure proper documentation for project and inventory management.

 

Qualifications:

  • Red Seal Electrician Certification
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to mentor and guide apprentice electricians.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.
