Description

The Laundry Extractor/Aide is responsible for processing soiled and clean linens and laundry from the hospital. They will also be responsible to do laundry counts for the floors and assist in the delivery of items.  The Laundry Extractor/Aide will be required to drive and deliver the items from the plant to the hospital several times each day.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Experience with industrial laundry services preferred
  • Valid Ontario Class G Driver’s License
  • Ability to operate large capacity washers, dryers, and finishing equipment
  • Ability to operate one ton box truck/side mirrors
  • Physically able to lift and move (push/pull) heavy carts (lift 20-50 lbs. regularly and up to 75 lbs. on occasion)
  • Ability to tolerate heat and stand for extended periods of time
  • Knowledge of proper safety practices and PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • Annual WHMIS, Standard First Aid and CPR training
  • Ability to adhere to standards of cleanliness to prevent spread of infection
  • Reliable attendance record
