We are searching for a detail-oriented and proactive Project Estimator/Coordinator to join our team!
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Produce quantity take-offs using Trimble (AutoBid)
- Data entry into estimating template/spreadsheet (Excel)
- Collaborate closely with project managers, estimators, and site foremen to monitor material procurement and hit key project objectives
- Analyze and interpret construction drawings and documents to assist the Project Managers in preparing comprehensive Scope of Work (SOW) for internal teams and subcontractors
- Communicate professionally with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure that all project requirements are met
- Prepare and track material orders, purchase orders (POs), change requests (CRs), and subcontract change orders (SCOs), ensuring accuracy and compliance with project needs and budgets
- Maintain organized project documentation, including Site Instructions (SIs), Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Quotes (RFQs), ensuring all records are up to date and accessible
- Review tender documents (drawings, specifications, and scope of work) to prepare accurate and competitive estimates for plumbing and mechanical (HVAC) systems
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals for submission to clients in a timely manner
- Collect, review, and compare quotes from subcontractors and suppliers to develop competitive pricing strategies and maintain strong vendor relationship
- Prepare detailed work breakdown structure (WBS) and schedule of values (SOV) for awarded projects and enter them into the company’s CRM (Knowify).
Qualifications:
- Experience in estimating/project coordination
- Project coordinator experience in in the mechanical or construction industry preferred
- Excellent proactive communication skills, including the ability to ensure that emails are answered with status updates to ensure the PM’s are informed on where their request is
- Experience working closely with accounting, project managers, and estimators to track project costs and enter projects into the company’s CRM
