We are seeking friendly and outgoing Pediatric Dental Assistants who love children and having fun! Our Pediatric Dental Assistants work hands on with our Pediatric Specialists and General Dentists during treatment and examinations. As a Pediatric Dental Assistant, your interactions will shape the patient’s experience and how they perceive their dental care lifelong. Responsibilities include assisting with dental procedures, preparing rooms, setting up trays, and educating children and guardians on proper oral health. The position requires patience, excellent interpersonal communication, technical skills, and the ability to work with children of all ages. Responsibilities: 

  • Assist doctors in all dental procedures and treatment. 
  • Sterilize, disinfect and prepare instruments and equipment for patient treatment. 
  • Educate patients on general oral health care as directed by the doctor.
  • Present treatment to patients and guardians as directed by doctor. 
  • Complete x-rays and intra-oral pictures of patients in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Record patient charting and all the doctor’s notes in the digital patient chart as directed.
  • Maintain inventory and supplies.
  • Maintain strict compliance with State, Federal, and other regulations, (e.g., OSHA, HIPAA, and Risas policies and practices). 
  • Any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

Qualifications and Skills:  

  • Loves children!
  • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred 
  • High School Diploma or GED required  
  • X-ray certification or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire  
  • Coronal polish certification preferred
  • Dental Sedation certification a plus
  • 1-2 years' experience working with children in the dental field 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills  
  • Superior knowledge of dental clinical operations and terminology  
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of the doctor and patients 
  • Must have a warm friendly, outgoing personality and excellent organizational skills.  
  • Ability to work within a team environment and lend support, as a team player, to teammates as needed.
