NOTICE OF VACANCY
 
POSITION: VOLUNTEER SERVICES - Coffee Shop Student Staff
Primary Site: Stratford
Regular Part-time
(Shifts: 4-hours, 7 day/week coverage, may be subject to change)
 
POSITION SUMMARY: The Coffee Shop Student Staff will advance the goals as defined by the Volunteer Council by following all policies/procedures and assigned tasks ensuring excellent customer service. 
 
REPORTS TO: Manger, Coffee Shop
Corporate Lead, Volunteer Services 
 
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible 
 
SALARY: $15.60 per hour
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Secondary school diploma with experience in food service; or any equivalent combination of training and experience. 
- Current Safe Food Handling Certification, or a willingness to obtain this certificate
 
EXPERIENCE:
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to communicate effectively with customers, staff and patients
- Ability to operate with a high level of independence, sound judgment and decision-making skills
- An understanding/experience with POS (point of sale) and cash register procedures
 
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- To liaise with customers ensuring they are greeted with a smile and a helping hand
- Conduct and present oneself in a professional manner
- Be able to maintain confidentiality in accordance with HPHA’s policy
- Be reliable, and flexible 
- Adapt to change
- Be a team player and take direction from lead staff.
- Be health and safety conscious and WHMIS knowledgeable
