Description

We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Grounds Maintenance Worker to provide services across seasons. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the hospital's outdoor areas, including flower beds, sidewalks, pathways, and all hospital properties.

Duties include snow and ice clearing/management, weeding, sweeping, cutting grass and bushes, attending to flowers, trees, and shrubs, and removing litter and debris. Additional responsibilities involve mixing fuel for power equipment, cleaning and maintaining equipment, transporting waste to the transfer station, and painting parking lot stalls, road signage, and railings.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Diploma
  • Possess a valid Class “G” Ontario Driver’s license
  • Previous experience as a groundskeeper
  • Operation of power mowers, lawn tractors and grass cutters
  • Ability to operate all grounds-keeping equipment
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • Ability to work within limits and standards set out by policies, procedures, specifications, and legislation
  • Dependable, competent, with ability to fulfill responsibilities
  • Physically capable of performing the essential duties of the position
  • An understanding of functions of a horticulturalist
  • Reliable attendance record
