NOTICE OF VACANCY
 
POSITION: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Primary Site: Clinton/Seaforth
Temporary Full-Time (Approximately 12 months)
 
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director, Patient Care, the Administrative Assistant, Clinton and Seaforth Sites, is responsible for providing efficient administrative support to the Directors of Patient Care and their associated programs and the VP, People & Chief Quality Executive. In addition, the Administrative Assistant acts as a Site Contact/Coordinator for the Clinton Public Hospital and the Seaforth Community Hospital. 
 
REPORTS TO: Director, Patient Care
 
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible 
 
SALARY: $36.68 to $40.76 per hour
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Graduation from a 3 year University Program in English or Business preferred
- 2-3 year Community College Secretarial/Business program or equivalent 
- Additional advanced courses in word-processing, spreadsheet and graphic software packages
 
Experience:
- At least 5 years recent, related and progressive experience in a demanding, highly computerized, office environment
- At least two years previous experience in an advanced secretarial position
- Previous Meditech experience an asset
 
Abilities:
- Excellent computer skills: proficient in Word processing, Spreadsheet, and Graphic Design, time-management and other office management related software packages
- Highly developed ability to learn and apply office technology (virtual meeting software, videoconferencing and teleconferencing equipment and procedures)
- Highly organized and able to prioritize a constantly changing workload.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills
- Ability to support and independently manage projects and conduct associated research as necessary
- Ability to maintain a confidential environment
- Ability to interact on a professional basis with a variety of internal and external contacts, including Ministry representatives; healthcare professionals; Board, Foundation and Auxiliary members, patients, family, caregiver and community members 
- Sound decision-making skills, demonstrating initiative and good judgement
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License with access to own vehicle.  Travel is required throughout Huron-Perth region with occasional travel to major centres.
