Mandate

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Sales Representative is responsible for promoting and selling our services to existing and prospective customers.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience as a sales representative in courier and transportation sales
  • Ability to build productive business professional relationships
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales.
  • Excellent selling, communication, and negotiation skills

  • Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience needs
  • Relationship management skills and openness to feedback

  • Strong organizational, operational, and planning skills in a customer service and sales focused environment

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Service existing accounts and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential clients
  • Keep management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses
  • Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
  • Recommend changes in service and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management
  • Provide historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales.
  • Present, promote, and sell products/services using solid arguments to existing and prospective customers
  • Perform cost-benefit and needs analysis of existing/potential customers to meet their needs
  • Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Reach out to customer leads through cold calling
  • Expedite the resolution of customer problems and complaints to maximize satisfaction
  • Achieve agreed upon sales targets and outcomes within schedule
  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments
  • Analyze the territory/market’s potential, track sales, and status reports
  • Supply management with reports on customer needs, problems, interests, competitive activities, and potential for new services
  • Keep abreast of best practices and promotional trends
  • Continuously improve through feedback
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Carry out other tasks as deemed necessary by management
