Position Summary:

We are looking for a Dairy Installation/Service Technician whose primary responsibilities will be to work with our Dairy division team to serve our Dairy families community. This will involve new and used installations and subsequent maintenance and repairs of milk harvesting systems, milk cooling processes, cow identification & management, both hardware and software. Systems that provide cow comfort in the areas of stalling and traffic control, manure systems servicing and repair, back end barn equipment that will also involve ventilation, cattle watering systems and herd health products including brushes and foot baths.

This person will work on the installation of new equipment while also working within the scheduled service program that we offer to our customers. In addition to installing & servicing dairy equipment, this person will work alongside our Irrigation division to service and assemble hose reels. The Dairy Installation/Service Technician will be required to work closely around cattle.

Presently we serve our customers locally in the Okanagan and Shuswap, down into the Creston valley and north to the Cariboo, Vanderhoof and Smithers regions.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot & repair broken and/or malfunctioning dairy, livestock, robotic, and other farm related equipment
  • Install new equipment for dairy, livestock, robotics, and other farm related equipment
  • Follow diagrams and/or drawings and install components accordingly
  • Assemble, troubleshoot, and repair hose reels and irrigation guns
  • Perform routine services within the company’s scheduled service program
  • Maintain a clean and well-kept uniform and truck
  • Accurately document parts used and time spent on service calls & projects for billing
  • Communicate closely with supervisor on service & project completion
  • Represent the company in a professional manner at all times & maintain a collaborative relationship with our customers
  • Work both indoors & outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Provide quality work & service consistent with the company's standards
  • Follow all Health and Safety requirements at all times

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in a Mechanical/Technical background
  • Solid understanding of electrical circuitry, plumbing, and pumps
  • Ability to take ownership of work assigned and meet deadlines
  • Physically fit and able to perform tasks that may require lifting, climbing, pushing, bending, reaching & stooping
  • Ability to troubleshoot and use common repair tools & techniques
  • Excellent problem solving & critical thinking skills
  • Quick learner & tech-friendly
  • Thorough knowledge of smartphones and computers
  • Knowledge and experience of agriculture/dairy is an asset, but not a requirement
  • Able to work around animals
  • Valid driver’s license with clean abstract
