Position Summary
The Bike Patroller is responsible for maintaining safe riding use of hill and provide first aid to all resort guests and staff if and when required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide first aid to guests and employees
- Participate in morning and evening sweeps
- Minor hill maintenance and placement of signs, fences, etc.
- Report any unusual conditions and look to see that all wheels are turning on the lift you are riding
- All trails to be inspected before public use and report any significant conditions to the appropriate person
- Inspect all first aid equipment prior to daily operations
- Be prepared to render assistance to other resort services as required
- Ensure all paperwork is checked and completed. Prompt, accurate and complete report forms
- Continually monitor hill conditions
- Enforce the Alpine Responsibility Code
- Enforce safe mountain biking practices
- Participate in Lift Evacuations
- Ability to recognize trail hazards which require further maintenance
- Participate in any search and rescue operations
- Prompt, efficient and courteous delivery of first aid
- Providing a positive / upbeat customer service experience for all of our guests every day
- Assist with Resort security when required
Qualifications:
- Casual MUST be available for 2 shifts in pay period. (As needed basis, subject to pass restrictions)
- Emergency Medical Responder or equivalent level of First Aid.
- Ability to complete reports, daily logs/reports, equipment inspections.
- Ability to work outdoors for the entirety of their shift and respond to calls for service.
- Responsible for hill/resort safety, assisting in maintenance and delivering customer service
- Ability to mountain bike is considered an asset but will not be necessary.
- Must be personable and have positive demeanor
- Must have satisfactory vulnerable sector check
- Minimum age requirement of 18 years
