We are your Maritime John Deere Dealership with 15 locations to serve you, and we are looking for a skilled, dedicated person to fill the position of Agricultural Equipment Technician at our Summerside, PE location.
Purpose:
Independently performs basic diagnostics, service repairs and maintenance work on customer and/or dealer-owned agricultural equipment and implements. May require some direction or guidance from the Service Manager, Service Location Manager, Shop Foreman, or senior technicians.
Responsibilities:
- Performs diagnostics and repairs on agricultural equipment and established precision agriculture products
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, using hand and power tools
- Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers specifications
- Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
- May attach components and adjust new farm equipment
- Participates in training programs required for the development of skills and knowledge, must be willing to travel
- Maintains current knowledge of John Deere and competitive products
- Maintains condition of vehicles, inventory, tools, and equipment
- Maintains a clean work area and performs work in a neat and orderly fashion
- Follows all safety rules and regulations in performing work assignments
- Completes all reports and forms required in conjunction with work assignments
- Accounts for all time and for all material used in performing assigned duties
- Follows duties for technician outlined in the RO process
- Work with other departments as directed by your Service Manager
- Utilizes knowledge and capabilities, going above and beyond to keep customers equipment up and running
- Encourage and support teamwork, workplace safety and cooperative fun work environment
- Due to the nature of our business, technicians can/will be required to work overtime and be on call primarily during the peaks of our seasons. This will vary by store location.
- May be required to support other location due to specialized training and/or staff shortages
Requirements:
- 2+ years of experience performing service repairs
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Diesel Mechanic Red Seal Certification and/or Apprenticeship preferred.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Forklift license preferred.
- Proficient knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of agricultural and turf equipment
- Ability to perform basic repairs and required maintenance using special tools and equipment following technical manual procedures
- Ability to use Service Advisor and basic computer functions
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment used for diagnostic purposes
- Proficient oral and written communication skills
- Ability to lift at least 75 lbs. repeatedly

Hours & Wage:
40-44 hrs/week
$19.00/hr-$30.00/hr
