Our client client located in Surrey is a leading supplier of wood processing machinery for the sawmill, pulp and paper, and biomass/pellet manufacturing industries.

 

They are looking for a Production Planner / Buyer with the following skills:

  • Familiarity with production planning, material purchasing and inventory control tools and systems (SAP, MRP, demand ordering systems, warehouse management and inventory analysis).
  • Strong computer skills with experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working with engineering drawings.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Communicate with all departments to ensure project information is shared as required.
  • Create Bill of Materials (BOM) and Production Orders in SAP.
  • Capital Equipment work order information flow.
  • Create information packages for Production and venders.
  • Document progress of different projects for internal customers.
  • Provide progress reports and Project cost analysis.
  • Materials planning, strategic purchasing.
  • Manage special projects as required.
  • Work closely with Engineering for information and process improvement.
  • Provide critical feedback for various vender, foster mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Contribute where your skills and experience are beneficial to the company.

 

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • A post-secondary diploma in manufacturing processes purchasing or supply chain management is an asset.
  • Minimum of one year experience in production planning or materials purchasing/buying.
  • Manufacturing or forestry industry-related experience is an asset.

 

This is a full-time temp-to-hire position based out of Surrey, BC. This position is key to ensuring that procured goods and services required align with production schedules and sales demands.

 

Salary range: $50,000 to $60,000 annually
