General Accountant
Permanent Part-Time
Our hospital and nursing home located less than 30 minutes northwest of Ottawa, is a multi site and integrated health service organization offering, acute, long-term care and community programs and services.

Reporting to the Vice President of Finance & Support Services, we are seeking a Permanent Part-Time (0.6 FTE) General Accountant to support our finance department. The incumbent will be responsible for a wide array of duties including but not limited to:
- Monthly financial reporting
- Monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts
- Preparing and entering monthly journal entries as required
- Maintaining fixed assets module
- Reconciling deferred grants, donations, and fixed assets
- Assisting with year-end audit procedures and annual statements for ARH
- Preparing quarterly and annual submissions to Ontario Health and Stats Canada
- Completing annual charity returns for ARH and the Foundation
- Other duties or tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Accounting
- Accounting designation or working to achieve designation preferred
- Sound knowledge of Healthcare Accounting, MIS Guidelines
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a hospital setting is preferred
- Requires excellent computer skills with a sound working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Accounting software packages
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to deal with multiple demands and changing priorities
- Solid organizational skills
- Highly analytical and detail oriented
- Ability to maintain strictly confidential information
