LEAN ANALYST – Construction, Road Rail, Agricultural, Mining Equipment Industry

Our client, one of the largest companies in Canada is seeking a LEAN Analyst
This position is responsible for investigating, documenting, assessing, and facilitating business improvements that result in simplified, streamlined, and standardized workflow and business processes across the organization. This position will work directly with various internal departments and stakeholders as needed to achieve business-process improvement objectives through the application of LEAN methodologies including 5S, Value Stream mapping, and 6-Sigma
Duties & Responsibilities
Identify, eliminate, or reduce process-related waste through the application of LEAN principles and related process improvement methodologies
Participate in education and information training sessions with business stakeholders as needed to secure engagement and alignment on business workflow and process improvements
Ensure standards, policies, and preferred work processes and practices are optimized in accordance with company operating philosophies and objectives
Contribute to the development of key training materials, documentation, and manuals as required
Conduct monitoring and measurement audits on a regularly scheduled basis
Required Skills
Working knowledge, exposure, or strong interest in workflow, process mapping, or improvement techniques and tools including 5S, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, 6-Sigma, ISO, or other industry recognized techniques and tools
Demonstrated ability to organize work, set priorities, and achieve work objectives and goals with minimal supervision
Effective communication and presentation skills to individuals and groups of 5-10 employees; ability to build rapport, establish credibility, and influence others to change
Requires a basic understanding of corporate organizational structures, departments, and functional relationships; experience with heavy equipment dealerships is considered an asset
A strong working knowledge of MS Office is required; working knowledge of MS Project and Visio is preferred, although training will be provided
Advanced knowledge and experience with software code programming will be considered an asset
Specific LEAN-related initiative experience (as champion, team lead, or subject matter expert) and/or project management experience preferred
The candidate must possess a minimum of 1 year “hands-on” experience in a quality process improvement related capacity with interest in a role as either a lean green belt, team lead, subject matter expert, or other similar quality-related improvement initiative(s)
Strong desire to learn
Organized with excellent communication skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or Business is an asset
Must be willing to travel as needed
