Warehouse Associate (Full Time)

We are seeking General Warehouse Associate who will be working at our Elgin branch working 5 days a week from Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Load, unload and move products by hand or with basic material handling equipment;
  • Operate a variety of equipment to unload and load and move products;
  • Assemble and fill boxes and other cartons with items that need to be shipped;
  • Weigh products, wrap goods and pack and unpack products;
  • Prepare and print shipping labels corresponding to shipment’s needs;
  • Affix proper postage to each package in preparation for shipping;
  • Prepare and process customers’ orders by using various shipping system (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc.)
  • Communicate with the carrier to coordinate the shipping schedule for the orders;
  • Process incoming requisitions which include picking, checking and packing orders;
  • Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices and other documents;
  • Restock bins;
  • Maintain and organize inventory;
  • Use the inventory control system to locate information, search orders or investigate discrepancies;
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and update supplies as needed;
  • Other general warehouse duty as required.

 

Skills & Qualities:

  • Physically able to lift heavy shipments and products up to 50 lbs. on a daily basis;
  • Detail-oriented;
  • Ability to work at a fast pace with frequently changing dynamics;
  • Significant use of memory;
  • Ability to operate a computerized inventory control system and scan gun picking;
  • Fast typing;
  • Team player with a positive attitude;
  • Strong problem-solving skills;
  • Able to work independently;
  • Steel-toed safety boots required;
  • Customer Service Oriented;
  • One year of related experience will be an asset but not required as we will train;
  • Operate industrial lift trucks, pallet jack, or forklifts would be an asset;
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written).
