Millwright

Our company is currently looking for a Millwright/Industrial Mechanic to join their Maintenance Team.  Reporting directly to the Facilities Maintenance Manager, the successful applicant will play a key role in providing service and maintenance of production equipment including electronic sorting equipment, conveying and handling systems, fruit labelling and weighing bagging equipment and mill equipment such as mixers and augers.

 

In this role, you will:

 

  • Observe and test the operation of machinery and equipment in order to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Conduct tests and inspections of equipment and processes to evaluate quality, performance and opportunities for improvement.
  • Repair, install, adjust or maintain industrial production machinery.
  • Work with conveyors, automated and robotics systems, processing equipment (i.e. box conveyors, palletizers, baggers and carton erecters) and high speed packing equipment.
  • Record time, parts and materials used and order or requisition new parts and materials as necessary.
  • Provide knowledge and understanding of fluid, mechanical and air operated processes.
  • Adhere to all food safety, health and Safety, HACCP and Hygiene rules and procedures

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

 

  • Journeyman Ticket in related field
  • Mechanical technical aptitude and industrial maintenance experience
  • Mechanical and/or electrical experience in diagnostic/troubleshooting and preventative maintenance
  • A reliable team player that promotes a positive corporate culture
  • Excellent communication and multi-tasking ability
  • Strong attention to detail and an ability to follow manufacturer’s specifications and schematics to identify and troubleshoot issues.
  • Ability to lift 40lbs on an occasional basis
  • Able to work flexible shifts
  • Previous experience in food manufacturing considered an asset
