Position: CNC Machinist – 5 Axis

Our company is a dynamic, fast paced and rapidly growing manufacturing Company located in Colborne, Ontario
We currently have an immediate opening for a dedicated and detail-oriented Machinist to set up and operate a variety of CNC machines to produce machined aluminum components. This person is responsible to set up to customer requirements and achieve First Off approval from Quality Assurance then hand off to Machine Operators for the production run. This person possesses the skill and ability to learn to program and produce one off / prototype samples to support customers and future growth of the company.

we specialize in medium to high volume precision machining of OEM non-ferrous components. We utilize advanced machining and cutting tool technology, combined with automation to create flexibility, decreased cycle times and improved process capability.


Responsibilities:
• Efficient in the set up and tear down of CNC machines (HMC, VMC, Lathe, & Transfer Machines)
• Work closely with Quality Technicians to achieve first off and ensure conformance of product produced
• Interpret CMM, Engineering drawings and mechanical measurements to make necessary offset adjustments during run
• Program, prove out & edit CNC programs
• Critically review processes to maximize part quality, machine turnaround time and reduce part cycle times
• Program, plan and run one off sample & prototype runs
• Troubleshoot tooling, fixtures, and machining processes as they arise
• Maintain & repair machining fixtures
• Maintain CNC programs and set up documentation to ensure they are current
• Review and assemble tools for upcoming set ups when required
• Interact with Engineering, tooling and fixture Suppliers
• Ability to work independently or as part of team
• Aid Shift Supervisor in Operator training
• Ability to work extra hours or weekends when required


Qualifications:
• 3-5 years CNC Machining experience
• Machinist Certificate of Qualification Red Seal or equivalent experience preferred
• Experience with CNC Horizontal Mills a must (5 axis preferred)
• Experience with CNC Rotary Transfer Machines, Twin spindle horizontal mills and/or ABB robots is considered an asset (on the job training provided)
• Previous programming experience using Gibbs would be an asset.
• Knowledge of current cutting tool technology and parameters
• Ability to read & interpret engineering drawings with an understanding of GD&T
• Ability to use a variety measuring equipment (Mics, Vernier, dial indicator, height gauge, etc.)
• A quick learner and have willingness to be trained
