This position will support a Midnight Shift Operation

Salary: $36.00-$40.00 per hour

As a Millwright, you are responsible for maintaining all production machines in good working condition by performing comprehensive mechanical, basic electrical, and general automation maintenance tasks. You will install, maintain and repair equipment and machinery using specialized tools. In this role you will work on industrial machines and facilities at our manufacturing plant in Guelph, Ontario.

 

Duties Include:

  • Perform total preventative maintenance as defined within plans and according to schedules
  • Monitor and review information from materials, events, or the environment to detect or assess problems
  • Create, assemble and modify industrial equipment, machinery and fixtures using prints and plans to maintain good running condition
  • Identify abnormal conditions in part quality or machine operations on assigned production line(s) using monitoring tools, methods, performance data, and company procedures
  • Identify root cause of problems and correct to return part/machine to good running condition if within scope of work
  • Report abnormal or suspect conditions or breakdowns outside scope of work to appropriate personnel and provide support to return part/machine to good running condition
  • Conduct failure analysis on recurring production problems; locate root cause(s); address root cause by repairing, rebuilding, modifying, setting up, or adjusting industrial equipment, machinery or facilities using company procedures, plans, and prints in order to return the item/system to good running condition
  • Train and mentor machine technicians and apprentices responsible for conducting total preventative maintenance tasks
  • Responsible for continuous improvement of skills and cross-training between disciplines
  • Shut down, set up, and change out equipment or machines according to company procedures on assigned production line(s) for mass production, tooling changes, or maintenance
  • Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test equipment and applying knowledge of the functional operation of the system

 

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Millwright (433A)
  • Must be able to operate all common tool room machinery in a safe and productive manner
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must possess good problem solving skills to properly repair tools and fixtures
  • Applicants with welding skills would be preferred
  • Must be familiar with Preventative Maintenance systems.
  • Must possess basic computer skills to document repairs and search for data
