The Responsibilities

  • planning, monitoring, communicating job expectations and appraising job results;
  • maintain work flow by setting process variables, monitoring steps of the process;
  • ensure operation of equipment by evaluating new equipment and calling for repairs of old ones;
  • observing equipment and control points;
  • facilitating corrections to malfunctions, implementing cost reductions for maximum efficiency;
  • managing risk to minimize losses and maximize profits;
  • provide manufacturing information by sorting, initiating, compiling, and analyzing production performance data and records;
  • monitoring resources and personnel;
  • developing reporting systems and procedures, studying methods;
  • counseling, disciplining and coaching employees;
  • maintain staff by recruiting, orienting, selecting and training employees and developing personal growth opportunities in them;
  • coordinating, initiating and enforcing systems, procedures and policies;
  • initiating and developing a spirit of cooperation between and within departments;
  • contribute to team effort;
  • observe and comply with all of the Corporation's policies and procedures;
  • ensuring compliance of health and safety guidelines;
  • timely processing and detailed accounting of Employee expense reports;
  • any other duties as may be assigned by the Corporation, or any officer of the Corporation to the Employee.

 

Skills and Qualifications 

  • A strong working knowledge in electronics industry
  • Knowledge of wire, tubes or plastic industries an asset
  • Project management skills
  • Advanced knowledge in ERP software packages (knowledge of Microsoft NAV is an asset) 
  • Leadership abilities to mentor and coach employees and boost morale
  • Minimum 2+ years experience in electronics industry and 2+ years of experience in a supervisory or management capacity required.
