Company Overview

Our Carrier Drive Bakery produces a wide variety of fresh bakery goods including Tortillas, English Muffins, and gluten-free goods for retail and restaurants all over Canada and the US. Many traditional styles and flavour are baked up daily here spanning in the millions each and every week

Job Duties:

  • Supervise and assign daily tasks of crew in accordance with training and staffing levels
  • Perform random inspection during sanitation time to ensure proper and detail cleaning.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly sanitation records
  • Perform GMP and Internal Inspections of the facility, to communicate results and follows-up completion of corrective actions.
  • Oversee the development and execution of the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) through the scheduling of labour to clean and sanitize equipment, surfaces and plant environment to accomplish sanitation practices according to Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP’s).
  • Measure and analyze sanitation performance metrics and participate in weekly meetings (as required)
  • Promote the company’s health and safety program to ensure continued compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and JHSC recommendations 
  • Provide training and coaching to sanitation team members
  • Effectively provide feedback to employees regarding positive work performance and opportunities for improvement

 

In order to be successful in this role, you should:

  • Have 2-5 years of Supervisory experience in sanitation department in Food manufacturing setting (even better if it is Bakery environment!)
  • Have knowledge of HACCP/FSMA, Food industry GMP’s, BRC standards, WHMIS, first aid, Food safety, Basic food microbiology, lock out and tag out and OHSA
  • Have mind-set of continuous improvement and passionate about sanitation and understand its importance to safety and quality of manufactured food products.
  • Proficient in computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook), previous experience with EAM, SAP and Kronos an asset.
