Responsibilities:
ENGINEERING:
- Review customer prints and specifications, collaborate with machinists and programmer to develop machining concepts, work holding and tooling
- Interface with customers, material suppliers and subcontractor approving drawings when necessary
- Develop job traveler, update and modify projects in the company’s ERP system
- Assist in the coordination of quality, programming and tooling for new projects and continuous improvement methods on existing programs.
- Create process specifications drawings using Solidworks
- Provide technical support to shop floor personnel and quality department
- Identify and/or initiate qualifying Research and Development activity/claims and maintain its documentation
- Monitor daily shift performance and provide performance update reports
ESTIMATING/JOB PERFORMANCE & COSTING:
- Participate in feasibility review of new opportunities
- Participate in cost estimating of new projects, execute, and report to General Manager
- Execute supplier and subcontractor purchase orders
QUALITY:
- Abide by ISO 9001:2015 quality management standards, processes and procedures
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in CNC Machining both lathe and milling applications AND/OR
- Minimum college diploma in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering
- Experience with Solidworks, Mastercam, Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (i.e. Shoptech/E2)
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings including GD&T
- Knowledge of cutting tools is an asset
- Practical knowledge of costing elements
- Excellent mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Use of statistical data and techniques/analysis/performance metrics
- Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates initiative and a passion for achieving results
- Resourceful, innovative and energetic with high attention to detail and accuracy
