We are an ISO 9001 and controlled goods certified company, that has been in business for over 20 years and currently has a job opening for a full time, permanent CNC machinist. We are located in Musquodoboit Harbour, Nova Scotia, where the Musquodoboit River enters the Atlantic Ocean.

We are a high mix, low volume, precision machine shop, that manufactures components used for fiber optic and medical applications, defense and ocean research and many other high tech applications.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for safe setup and operation of CNC turning(2 and 3 axis) and machining centres(3, 4 and 5 axis) within specified timelines.
• Performing first article inspection as per procedure.
• Perform daily machine checks as per preventative maintenance program and safety procedures.
• Ensure that work space, machine and tools are kept clean and organized.

Requirements:

• Three years experience, minimum.
• Great attention to detail.
• Ability to machine complex parts to tight tolerances.
• Must be proficient in the use of various measuring devices, including calipers, micrometers, and other precision inspection tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Understanding of modern work holding, tooling and machining strategies.

Assets:

• Programming experience with Mastercam, Fusion 360 or similar.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Experience with the Haas controller.
