We are an established leader in engineering, fabrication, and construction of gas compression and processing facilities for the energy industry. We are currently seeking a Payroll Analyst to provide daily administration of payroll functions in a timely, efficient and accurate manner primarily for our construction division, Process Plant Constructors.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer weekly payroll for hourly employees with varying degrees of complexity
  • Administer payroll on a semi-monthly basis for salary employees
  • Review and audit payroll reports for accuracy and identify, resolve or escalate any discrepancies
  • Understanding and interpreting government legislation to ensure compliance regarding pay, deductions, benefits, taxes, and documentation
  • Be the first point of contact for employees regarding payroll inquiries and issues including resolving discrepancies in an efficient and timely manner
  • Verifying and producing ROEs, balancing, and reconciling T4 and maintaining payroll records
  • Provide payroll related reporting to the business as required.
  • Investigate, review and recommend enhancements for process changes
  • Contribute to the accuracy and integrity of the payroll function within the company and respond to employee and department enquiries as they relate to payroll
  • Assist with external audit preparations and work with auditors when required
  • Input hourly employees’ hours on a weekly basis

 

Qualifications:

  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation
  • Ability to act with integrity and confidentiality
  • 5 to 8 years previous experience full cycle payroll experience
  • Expertise in current legislation related to payroll and employment standards
  • Proven ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve payroll issues and prioritize work to meet tight deadlines
  • Experience in UKG (UltiPro) considered an asset
  • Thorough understanding of Canadian payroll legislation and company policies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs including Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Word
