ABOUT INFRA PIPE SOLUTIONS LTD

 

Our company has over 60 years of experience specializing in the design, manufacture, and custom fabrication of engineered polyethylene systems for water, wastewater, and storm water management applications.  Infra Pipe offers its clients full-service engineering support in the design and manufacture of custom systems to meet their project’s specific requirements.

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Technologist/Technician for our Huntsville, Ontario location.  This role will be responsible for proactively improving manufacturing operation efficiencies by the identification and resolution of technical problems and root cause associated with the process, equipment systems, elimination of waste such as scrap reduction, increasing machine efficiencies, reducing changeovers, initiating quality improvement, and investigating alternative processes. 

$2,000.00 Signing and retention bonus; $1,000.00 payable after 6 months’ continuous employment and another $1,000.00 payable after 1 full year of continuous employment.

 

WE REQUIRE:

  • Post-secondary diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technician or Technologist or equivalent,
  • 1 - 3 years previous experience in a manufacturing environment,
  • Working understanding of extrusion process or similar production processes, with ability to translate process to application,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, concisely and in plain language,
  • Self-motivated, self-directed, self-managed, innovative, adaptable, intellectually curious,
  • Strong computer proficiency (MS Office, AutoCAD),
  • Ability to demonstrate task management and timeline control,
  • The ability to develop strong and effective working relationships at all levels of the organization,
  • Experience utilizing a fully integrated ERP system an asset.

 

THE MAIN TASKS ARE:

  • Share responsibilities for coordinating and participating in the installations and start-up of new process equipment,
  • Organize and interpret engineering data to assist in preparing clear and concise drawings and technical documentation,
  • Prepare Engineering 3-D Models / Drawings for Fixturing & Tooling,
  • Assist with daily production processes, tooling and equipment issues,
  • Lead continuous improvement actions and productivity improvement initiatives, including design, development and modification of the manufacturing operations,
  • Collaborate with teams for capital and tooling projects from concept to full implementation, including direct contact with Suppliers and the Request for Quotation process,
  • Actively participate in all Health & Safety training and promote a safe work environment,
  • Participate in all LEAN and 5-S activities as it pertains to the position and job location, become involved in manufacturing capability planning,
  • Other duties/tasks as it pertains to the position and job location,
  • Conduct all work according to established Infra Pipe procedures, policies and standards,
  • Ability and willingness to occasionally travel throughout North Americas as required,
  • Working outside normal business hours/days as deemed necessary by manager in order to meet project deadlines,
  • Other projects and assignments as deemed necessary by manager.
