Our company is a municipal water resources engineering consulting company located in Vaughan, Ontario. We provide consulting services to both private and public sectors for storm and sanitary sewer capacity assessment and optimization. We are looking for a Combo Truck Operator to join the Field Operations team.

Responsibilities:

  • Sewer infrastructure cleaning, and hydro excavation on special projects
  • Adhering to all Health & Safety measures and company policies
  • Ensures the proper calibration and good working order of gas detectors, tripods and safety harness.
  • Adheres to the Highway Traffic Act and MTO Book 7 at all times.
  • Working overtime, at night, weekends and out-of-town when required.
  • Liaise with Project Analysts to obtain work orders, job information and location. Advises when the job is complete, resolve site issues or if additional equipment is required.
  • Coordinate work with CCTV Inspection Operator and other teams where applicable
  • Act as the on-site representative of the company.
  • Provide good customer service to clients.
  • Handle any complaints on-site from the general public.
  • Prepare paperwork completely, accurately and timely including: (daily timesheets, daily circle checks, drivers’ logs, and other reports as required).
  • Record fuel consumption and any other required vehicle operation information.
  • Maintain vehicle properly by performing daily circle checks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle.
  • Perform minor adjustments or minor repairs to equipment, as required.
  • Organize tools and equipment, including safety devices i.e. pylons, picks, tools, etc.

 

Qualifications:

  • Experienced Combo Truck Operators
  • Valid A/DZ license with a clean driver's abstract
  • Strong team player
  • Can perform work according to changing work schedules, weather conditions (e.g., evenings, weekends, night shifts, extended work hours, rain events), and work locations.
  • Can work independently without supervision
  • Organized and has attention to detail
  • Working knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software
  • Valid certifications on Defensive Driving, First Aid CPR Level C, Confined Space Entry. Working at Heights and Traffic Control (Book 7) is a plus
  • Able to lift 50lbs

Working Conditions: Normal working hours in a field environment. May experience adverse weather conditions. May be required to deal with difficult clients, homeowners, or contractors. Will likely deal under tight deadlines, and may be required to work overtime and/or weekends to meet project requirements. The position will include travel across Southern/Eastern Ontario and may occasionally require work during evenings and weekends.
