We are seeking a talented and experienced Technical Engineer to join our Research and Development team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product development and a passion for problem-solving.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing new products, as well as improving upon existing ones. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize opportunities for innovation, and will be responsible for conducting research, prototyping, and testing to bring new ideas to life.

To be successful in this role, you should have a strong understanding of engineering principles, as well as experience in product development. You should be able to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and have the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

 COMPETENCIES

• Must have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
• Diploma or University degree in mechanical engineering or relevant working experience
• Between 3 to 5 years of mechanical design experience in the industrial sector
• Knowledge of current computer applications such as the MS Office suite (Outlook, MS Project, Word, Excel), Acrobat Reader, Access and other applications, databases, and interfaces
• Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and other CAD applications
• Electrical/automation drafting experience
• Familiar with building and CSA codes for the design of steel and concrete structures
• Strong understanding of engineering principles
• Experience with prototyping and testing
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create designs in line with company procedure, regulations, and client standards
• Evaluates mechanical and electromechanical systems and products by designing and conducting research programs, applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.
• Being creative and Build prototypes
• Develops manufacturing processes by designing and modifying equipment for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components.
• Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly, and installation processes.
• Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
