Fleet Manager

We are looking for a highly organized candidate with good quantitative ability for the position of fleet manager.  Fleet managers are responsible for assisting in the recruitment of quality drivers into the fleet, maintaining detailed records of vehicle servicing and inspection and scheduling regular vehicle maintenance to ensure operational efficiency, among other duties.

 

Roles & Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement procedures for daily operations
  • Train new department hires
  • Coordinate all activities in the dispatch of items- requisition, planning, scheduling, reconciliation with regards to operational requirements
  • Execute effective leadership through coaching, counseling, and constructive development as well as hiring, scheduling and managing day-to-day tasks with disciplinary action as required.
  • Support the Health and Safety team by providing and encouraging a safe, clean, working environment for all staff
  • Maintain property, including, snow removal, dust control, cleanliness and keep organized in a safe, professional manor.
  • Serve as main contact for Fleet personnel, in a 24-hour operating environment, for all field personnel, material, equipment and tooling coming in and out of the yard.
  • Audit and insure all outbound/inbound materials are shipped/received appropriately and reported.
  • Inspect all equipment and materials when returned to the yard; thoroughly check equipment to make sure it is in working condition and store materials in an orderly fashion.
  • Work with operation groups to develop a system to coordinate, track and provide trucking details for materials loaded daily and manage resources accordingly.

 

Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of the transportation industry
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Valid G, Z licenses, extensive experience with the operation of heavy equipment
