Job Summary

The Staff Accountant is a critical member of the accounting team.  Reporting to the Controller, this individual must have multi-national experience as we operate facilities in the United States, Canada, and China.  Understanding these markets, and the associated transactions that are generated, is of utmost importance to the success of the accounting team and the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze processes within the finance/accounting functions to improve quality and efficiencies
• Manage accounting transactions
• Bank reconciliations
• Processing commissions and rebates monthly
• Closing job entries on Epicor
• Invoice entry
• Processing payments
• Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology
• Overhead accrual reconciliation
• General ledger reconciliations
• Managing in-transit reconciliation between China, US, and Canada
• Vendor setup/maintenance
• Liaise with accounts payables and accounts receivable teams in US and Canada
• Other ad hoc projects as required
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Director of Finance/Controller
• Prepare and post journal entries

Requirements:

• Degree in accounting, finance, or related field
• CPA, CMA certification preferred
• 3+ years related experience required
• Experience with a multi-national company required
• Experience in a manufacturing industry preferred
• Full proficiency using MS Office products, especially use of macros and analytical tools
• Experience in ERP environment an asset, Epicor system knowledge preferred
• Sound knowledge and understanding of United States GAAP and Canadian IFRS
• Process Auditing Knowledge
• Solid verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with management, other associates, customers, and suppliers
• Excellent math skills
