These include excavation and material disposal, site preparation, civil construction, land clearing, demolition, preloading, engineered retaining walls, road and highway construction, marine construction, and dredging.

 

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Measure & cut piping using standard industry tools.
  • Prepare subgrades & bedding, lay pipes at design grades and operate compaction equipment.
  • Install or replace various pipe systems including storm, sanitary, water communication, power conduits, and piping.
  • Follow written instructions and read blueprints to coordinate and lay out pipe routes.
  • Operate magnetic or radio indicators to locate existing pipes for repair and replacement purposes.
  • Mixing and installing grout in concrete sump or pipe install.
  • Keep accurate field records of location and grades of installed pipe systems.
  • Communicate and guide excavators to safely dig to subgrades.
  • Train other pipelayers in the process. Also supervise new hires initially to ensure they are able to work independently. 

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year pipe laying experience in the field.
  • Ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and manual tool operation.
  • Knowledge on proper use & installation of trench and manhole shoring systems.
  • Confined Space and fall protection training is required (We can co-ordinate this with successful applicants).
  • Valid Driver License with reliable transportation.
