We are a leading Canadian bakery with 140 years of experience in baking packaged breads. We operate multiple brands, and we have a network of 13 Bakery Manufacturing facilities across Canada.

 

Job Overview

Working closely with the Engineering and Maintenance teams, you will support and improve manufacturing operations by becoming a technical expert on critical production equipment across all plants.  You will troubleshoot and repair equipment, and be part of Preventative Maintenance in a fast paced, high impact-manufacturing environment.

 

 Responsibilities:

  • Identify and troubleshoot process equipment problems to minimize down time and recommend solutions
  • Assemble and repair existing equipment to ensure efficient operation
  • Document reviews of installations on applicable manufacturing test equipment
  • Read schematics/assembly drawings, layouts, data and process sheets to perform testing, build fixtures, analyze, and trouble-shoot equipment
  • Support Continuous Improvement activities in Manufacturing
  • Actively lead and participating in bakery audits: in-depth maintenance audits, wrench time studies, use of EAM software
  • Collaborate with vendors on new future technologies to enhance plant capabilities
  • Contributes/fosters Health & Safety/GMP’s
  • Travel between production facilities to assist critical repairs as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Mechanical Engineering  or Engineering Technology
  • Driven and clear about your future career goals
  • Positive attitude and a results-oriented mindset
  • Works well in and support a team-based environment
  • Naturally curious and strong desire to learn and grow
  • Attentive to detail and interested in mechanics
  • Basic understanding or ability to read schematics and prints
  • Experience with maintenance systems and computer programs (MS Office; Excel; Outlook)
  • Excited to travel, work in different bakeries and meet new people (25-30% travel required)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
