Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $39.21 per hour plus hiring bonus and profit sharing. Automatic raise after 1 year.

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule: Sunday evening to Friday morning from 10pm to 6:30 am (8 hours paid)

KEY Responsibilities:

  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act (or the “Act”) and the regulations; use or wear the equipment, protective devices or clothing that we require to be used or worn; report to the Supervisor the absence or defect in any equipment or protective device of which the worker is aware and which may endanger themselves or another worker; and report to the Supervisor any contravention of the Act or the regulations or the existence of any hazard of which the worker is aware
  • Advise all workers of the existence of any potential or actual danger to the health and safety of a worker which the Millwright is aware, and where so prescribed, provide all workers with written instruction as to the measures and procedures to be taken for the protection of a worker, and to take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of the workers
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with the procedures, rules and regulations
  • Understand and operate with a continuous sense of urgency in a fast paced working environment
  • Troubleshoot and perform hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronic and mechanical repairs to machinery
  • Complete work orders in a timely manner
  • Inform Maintenance Manager/Production Manager/Shift Supervisor of any machine break downs
  • Improve machine uptime and prevent machine break downs through implementation of P.M.s and problem solving
  • Keep inventory of machine spare parts and requisition when needed
  • Keep record of all spare parts used, and time spent on each machine repair
  • Monitor reverse osmosis & water treatment system
  • Report any abnormal discharge to the city water system immediately to the Maintenance Manager, Production Manager or Shift Supervisor
  • Maintain and repair building and services for the plant
  • Follow lock out procedures to ensure safety of self and others
  • MIG & TIG weld as required
  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly and annual preventative maintenance for each machine and piece of equipment as per their schedule or as instructed by the Maintenance Manager
  • Learn new technology and other skills
  • Perform other duties as required

Skills & Experience:

  • Licensed Industrial Millwright or Industrial Electrician or equivalent (current)
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a millwright or electrician position in a production manufacturing environment
  • Experience in MIG welding
  • Experience maintaining a Salvagnini or similar equipment
  • Practical knowledge and experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, electronics and mechanical systems is a must
  • Forklift license or ability to achieve Forklift license
  • Good computer skills including competency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Must be a strong team player
