Position Summary

We are seeking a purpose driven Sales Manager that will be based on site to join the Muskoka Bay Resort Sales Department.  This individual will be driven, resourceful, energetic, creative and an experienced hotelier and sales professional who has a proven track record of driving financial results, and has a passion for the meetings and events business. The successful candidate will possess strong client relationships and will be focused on penetrating and saturating established accounts along with developing new accounts. The individual must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and will be self-motivated, a team player and very goal orientated. This role is based out of Muskoka Bay Resort in Gravenhurst and is a fully-on site position.

 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities and customer needs to identify opportunities for revenue.
  • Prospect for new clients through cold calling, tradeshows, networking, referrals and industry events.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners and stakeholders to enhance customer satisfaction, loyalty and preferences.
  • Prepare customized event proposals, contracts and pricing quotes tailored to the specific needs and requirements of the client.
  • Negotiate contract terms, pricing and event details to meet clients expectations and company objectives.
  • Address customer inquiries, concerns and escalations in a timely and effective manner to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Collaborate with Operations/Marketing to gather customer feedback and insights to inform service enhancements and sales strategies.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment focused on accountability, professionalism and continuous improvement.
  • Provide strategic recommendations and actionable insights to Leadership based on sales data and market trends.
  • Prepare regular reports and analysis to track progress against goals and communicate insights to Leadership.
  • Preparation of sales reports, implementation of individual action plans as requested by the Director of Sales
  • Attend weekly and quarterly meetings related to Sales.

 

Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in Hospitality, Sales or Events is an asset.
  • Prior experience in a sales capacity for a Hospitality organization preferred.
  • Proven experience in corporate group sales, event planning, or hospitality sales, with a track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Possess the ability to handle objections, present solutions and create wins.
  • Working knowledge of revenue management and the ability to appropriately evaluate group business.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with corporate clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required to accommodate client meetings, events, and industry conferences.
  • Knowledge of the hotel marketplace, and meeting & event trends
  • Effective decision-making and critical judgment skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of the Resort & Corporate group meeting market.
  • Valid driver’s license and suitable transportation are required.

 

Education and Experience

Visa Requirements: Must be eligible to work in Canada
