Senior Human Resource Generalist / HR Specialist

Food manufacturing facility in North York

Located in North York  

 

As a key member in our Human Resources Team, you will be responsible for:

  • Oversee Recruitment / Talent Acquisition, including job posting process.
  • Oversee employee probationary reviews, completion of the reviews, and the tracking database.
  • Respond to Human Resources inquiries from employees and Management.
  • Assist employees and Management on Human Resources policies and their interpretation.
  • Oversee new hire orientation packages and administer safety training.
  • Oversee salary and hourly employees’ enrollment in ADP.
  • Oversee payroll process ( bi-weekly payroll, year end T4’s)
  • Oversee benefits monthly reconciliation, remittances.
  • Oversee Occupational Health & Safety policies procedures (Claims Management).
  • Job safety analysis of all job tasks
  • Research, develop, and maintain job descriptions based on occupational classifications.
  • Assist with administration of non-work-related time off including pregnancy/parental leaves and employees off on EI sick benefits in conjunction with payroll and benefits.
  • Assist in preparation of disciplinary letters.
  • Participate in investigations related to disciplines, workplace violence harassment.
  • Participate in Joint Health & Safety committee meetings, follow up on recommendations.
  • Research and recommend modifications to existing policies.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by HR department head.

 

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education ( Bachelor’s Degree ) in Human Resources Management, or a related field (completed or in progress) from within Canada.
  • Over 5 years of demonstrated HR Generalist experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Hands on experience working with Human Resources legislation and regulations.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills (i.e., PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Organized, ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Experience working in a team-based environment.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for superior customer service.

 

Shift: 12 pm to 8 pm ( Mid shift )

  • May be required to work varying hours based on production requirements.

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

 

Salary: Based on experience and skills

 

Schedule:

  • 8 hours shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends on call
  • Reliable commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
