POSITION: Food Runner/Host - Seasonal                 

WAGE: $16.55 Per Hour

DEPARTMENT: Food and Beverage               

STATUS OF POSITION: Summer Seasonal

Position Summary: As a Food Runner/Host at our restaurant, you play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of operations in the dining area. You will be responsible for greeting and seating guests as well as transporting food orders from the kitchen to the respective tables in a timely manner.

Ensure accuracy in matching orders with the correct tables and guests. Verify the completeness and presentation of each dish before delivering it to the table. Your attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will contribute significantly to the overall dining experience of our guests.

This role must be available evenings, weekends and holidays as needed throughout the Spring/Summer.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Welcome and seat all guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Monitor and manage seating chart and flow, ensuring all sections are seated accordingly.
  • Provide assistance with banquet set up, service and breakdown.
  • Ensure all work stations are kept clean, sanitized and organized at all times while on shift.
  • Always ensure that guests with special requests are recognized and attended to with pleasure.
  • Be aware of guests’ alcohol consumption and notify a supervisor if any signs of intoxication are noticed.
  • Ensure that all members and guests have a positive experience at Muskoka Bay Resort by ensuring a superior level of customer service and satisfaction.

Qualifications: ​

  • Previous F&B experience at a property of similar size and luxury status.
  • Knowledge of Beer, wine & spirits and proper service techniques.
  • Computer literate; experience with P.O.S. systems, Word and excel.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Excellent listening and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Be professional in appearance and approach responsibilities in an organized & energetic manner.​

Education & Experience

  • Experience in a hotel or a hospitality related field is an asset
