POSITION:OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH & SAFETY ASSISTANT
Temporary Full-time
 
POSITION SUMMARY:             
Under the direction of the Director, Human Resources, the Occupational Health Assistant is responsible for providing efficient administrative support for the Occupational Health and Safety Department, and Infection Control Department. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for the day-to-day activities, assisting new employees through the onboarding process, processing correspondence, data entry, file maintenance, reception duties, N95 mask fitting, and special projects within the Human Resources Department. 
 
REPORTS TO: Director, Human Resources and Environmental Services
 
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
 
SALARY: $30.98 to $34.42 per hour
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- College diploma or University degree from a Human Resources program or Occupational Health and Safety program (completion or in-progress)
Experience:
- A minimum of 1 year recent, related and progressive experience in a demanding, highly computerized, office environment
- Exposure to and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety and/or Infection Control preferred
 
Abilities:
- Highly developed level of maturity as demonstrated by sound decision-making skills, excellent judgement and assessment skills
-Strong command of the English language – both written and verbal
- Excellent keyboarding and computer skills:  proficient in Word-processing, Spreadsheet and Graphics software packages
- Highly developed ability to organize and prioritize within a fast paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to commit to a highly confidential environment
- Ability to work independently with highly developed problem solving skills
- Ability to understand and collaborate with a broad range of disciplines 
- Proven ability to build positive and productive relationships at all levels of the organization
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License with access to own vehicle
