About the Position:

Our client is currently seeking a Purchasing and Inventory Manager. In this role the ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring, controlling and sourcing packaging materials, raw ingredients, goods and services, supports equipment purchases, and managing inventory levels and suppliers.

 

Your Daily duties and responsibilities:

  • Overseeing all documentation pertaining to the validity of any expiration dates regarding audits and suppliers including, but not limited to all packaging, and various ingredients (emphasis on all allergens, Global Food Safety Initiative audits and reports, any agreements, nutritional components, letter of guarantees, any changes associate to allergen and organic agreements including any summaries, the interpretation of lot code, genetically modified organisms status, packaging procedures, specifications on all delivers and country of origin, certification on any kosher products, updating all forms, lists, relevant supplier information, training (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point, organics and private level) and other duties as may be required.
  • Taking charge of all aspect of purchasing and supplier development activities in accordance with  the budgets, policies, ethical standards and audit requirements
  • Responsible for purchasing activities such as packaging, office supplies, production materials among other requires purchases as needed
  • Actively doing inventory checks to ensure materials and supplies are up to date, ordering and restocking of items
  • Enter, post and adjust Purchase Order in Enterprise Resource Planning system
  • Oversea and provide assistance if needed to the Purchasing Assistant to ensure proper procedure and protocols are maintained
  • Keep good working relationship with routine customers and outside suppliers
  • Full training and experience is required in the area of food allergies and storage procedures
  • Other duties may be required

 

Qualification for this role:

  • Post-secondary Education
  • Supply Chain Management Association certified is an asset
  • 3-5 years’ experience in procurement and dealing with suppliers
  • Worked in a supervisory capacity
  • Worked in a food and or Manufacturing field would be ideal
  • Experience reading contracts relating to supply management
  • Knowledge of Request for Quote, Request for Proposal, supplier quotes, purchase orders, receiving documents and invoices.
  • Good command of the English language
  • Ability to work without supervision
  • Pays strong attention to detail
  • Up to date knowledge of Raw materials and benefits
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning an asset
  • Experience with HACCP based food safety programs
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Commuting to different clients
  • Ability to operate a forklift and/or have a license is an asset
