POSITION: PROGRAM COORDINATOR
Site: Stratford
Full-time (37.5 hours)
POSITION SUMMARY: As a member of the Stratford/Perth Shelterlink collaborative team, the Living Options for Youth Program Coordinator provides direct, quality and safe program coordination to youth experiencing homelessness in accordance with Stratford/Perth Shelterlink’s policies, under the supervision of the Executive Director.
REPORTS TO: Executive Director, Stratford/Perth Shelterlink
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: $19.21 hourly
QUALIFICATIONS:
Degree or Diploma in Social Services, Psychology or equivalent education or work-related experience
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Certification and First Aid Certificate required
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of one (1) year previous or similar experience with legislation, regulations, policy and procedures for program development and implementation AND involvement with youth in community programs
Basic counselling, team building, negotiating and mediation skills
Working knowledge and or experience with community resources, programs and/or services as related to youth
Office administration including experience in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
Administration, supervisory and communication experience
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Scheduling staff, coordinating youth and the completion of monthly billing
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position
Position Specific Duties:
Provide intake and orientation to new residents while ensuring adherence to LOFY residence rules
Liaise regularly with each resident to ensure that he/she is working toward established individual goals
Ensure the safety and security of LOFY residence and staff at all times
Coordinate and, when necessary, mediate bi-weekly resident group meetings
Coordinate with Executive Director & LOFY staff to provide feedback when meeting on related issues or topics
Provide administrative and fundraising support to the Executive Director
Attend meetings on behalf of Executive Director as needed
Provide additional public support to Executive Director via public speaking engagements
Maintain confidentiality of organizational, staff and resident information
Perform other duties as assigned where they are a necessary function of the position
