Morguard is now hiring a Regional Manager to lead our team in Chicago, Illinois.

We are a trusted real estate management and investment company, with a portfolio of 2,053 units based in Chicago. We are looking for an experienced Regional Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Asset Manager - SVP, you will develop high-growth communities, unify portfolio operations and develop innovative repositioning strategies to ultimately, maximize long-term performance and resident satisfaction.

The Regional Manager is accountable for the overall success of his or her communities. You’ll work to champion Morguard’s business objectives and give voice to opportunities for improvement.

About You:

You’re analytical, detail-oriented and enjoy working in a high-volume environment. You have had some familiarity with commercial real estate but have proven success with high rise luxury residential assets.

 In this role, you will:

  • Maintain multi-site property operations through site visits, inspections, and audits
  • Manage and participate in the strategic vision for each asset including repositioning and redevelopment plans
  • Analyze management reports and recommend performance improvements to the management team and asset managers
  • Analyze financial statements and procedures and make necessary operating adjustments to improve the revenue streams and cost efficiencies
  • Prepare annual property budgets and three-year business plans with realistic goals to increase operating income while reducing expenses
  • Prepare for and work through due diligence procedures to integrate assets onboarding new communities and teams into the organization
  • Review and approve payment for invoices from individual properties weekly to monitor property spending and avoid late payments
  • Motivate, mentor, manage and evaluate District Managers and Community Managers, and management team
  • Conduct interviews, hire, develop, mentor and grow staff at individual communities to become future leaders within the organization
  • Effectively manage personnel at multiple properties to improve access to residents and prospects to gain efficiencies
  • Work collaboratively to promote the unification and standardization of all policies, procedures to all communities

Skills and qualifications that you’ll bring to our team:

  • B.A. in business administration, hospitality or finance preferred
  • 10+ years of experience overseeing high-rise buildings, ideally as a District Manager or Regional Manager. Please note that high-rise residential experience is required.
  • Experience managing and marketing communities, and overseeing multi-site operations
  • Strong foundation in Microsoft Excel, Yardi 7S, Rent CafĂ© and Rentmax
  • Familiarity with amenity-based pricing, and federal, state and/or local Fair Housing laws
  • Effective budget management skills, and ability to drive performance across multiple locations
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time. Primarily between Florida, Illinois, and Maryland
