Description

Are you a student looking for a unique opportunity that will advance your technological skills? This student work placement provides an opportunity to gain experience within a simulation laboratory environment.

The successful incumbent will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of simulation equipment, including: developing an inventory management system (cataloguing, developing and maintaining operation manuals of all simulation equipment & materials) as well as a recording system to capture ongoing equipment maintenance and repair requirements. In addition to the hands on experience of creating IV gel block and making skin etc, you will gain experience and knowledge in the use of and the training on simulation technologies. If you want to expand your working experience in health and biosciences, this is the job for you!

This role will be partially funded through BioTalent Canada and must fit the following qualifications in order to meet eligibility criteria:

Qualifications

  • Must be a current full-time or part-time student registered in a post-secondary program in Canada
  • Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person who has been granted refugee status in Canada
  • Must be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial legislation and regulations
  • Must consent to release employment information to BioTalent Canada and the Government of Canada periodically during the placement and after the end of the placement
  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Must be physically able to stand, reach, bend and lift
  • Reliable attendance record
